Number of Years Employed at St. Ann Catholic School: First Year
Education: Bachelor's Degree in Elementary Education from Rockhurst University
Work Experience: After I graduated from college, I worked at St. Elizabeth School teaching fourth grade and then second grade. Later, I worked at Visitation Catholic School for six years as a paraprofessional and completing two long term substitute positions during that time. The past several years, I was the building substitute at Leawood Elementary in the Blue Valley School District. This past spring I worked as a long term substitute in a kindergarten classroom.
Teaching Philosophy: As a classroom teacher it is important to create a positive learning environment to teach students to their individual strengths while encouraging the formation of faith and spiritual growth. I feel it is important to build relationships with my students so I can provide them what they need to be successful and confident in their learning process. I encourage classroom engagement and foster a love of learning.
Passions and Interests: I love to listen to audio books while walking my two dogs. I spend my free time up with my family and enjoy meeting friends for walks or coffee. I love sports and my favorites include the Royals, Chiefs, college football and my son's baseball team!
Favorite Scripture: "Children are a gift from the Lord; they are a reward from him" Psalm 127:3
