Number of Years Employed at St. Ann Catholic School: Three
Education: BS Elementary Education from the University of Central Florida with an emphasis on Kindergarten.
Work Experience: I feel God has called me to work with His some of His youngest learners and this is my 23rd year teaching kindergarten! During my teaching career I have taught in Florida and North Carolina and am happy to now call Kansas my home.
Teaching Philosophy: I believe that each child is a unique gift from God. My young students grow spiritually, academically , social-emotionally and physically during the dynamic year of kindergarten. I believe in creating a joyful and positive classroom atmosphere where children feel comfortable to explore and learn. One of my favorite quotes is that "Childhood is a journey, not a race." As a teacher I provide developmentally appropriate lessons and activities which help children grow in knowledge and understanding of a concept. I look for the good in each child each day and help my class discover God and His goodness and love.
Passions and Interests: I see God's power and goodness in nature. I love visiting the National Parks and traveling. I enjoy camping, gardening and home projects.
Favorite Scripture: "God so loved the world that he gave his only Son, that whoever believes in him may not die but may have eternal life." - John 3:16
