Work Experience:
As I was finishing my master's degree in Omaha, I stayed home with my children and ran an in-home daycare for 5 years. Once my children were in school, I worked as a paralegal for 2 years at a local law firm. Moving here in 2007, I worked for the Olathe School District as a paraprofessional at Heatherstone Elementary school. In 2010, I began working at Holy Cross Catholic school and worked there for 9 years. Throughout that time I taught 4th, 6th, junior high social studies, and junior high drama. I also ran the Holy Cross summer camp for 3 years.
Teaching Philosophy:
I believe that all children learn in different ways and at different paces. As a teacher, it is my job to get to know each child as an individual to help them reach their best academic levels. Every child can be successful. Building a relationship with students is the first step to helping them achieve that success. Being able to spread God's love within a classroom is a true gift.
Passions and Interests:
I love indoor soccer, sand volleyball, hiking and any outdoor activity I can be exposed to. I enjoy visiting my family in Omaha, Nebraska and love spending time with my husband and four adult children. I continue to learn and grow as a teacher through classes, podcasts, literature, and educational cohorts.
Favorite Scripture:
"Let the children come to me, and do not prevent them; for the kingdom of heaven belongs to such as these.” Matthew 19:14
