Kids' Day Out Newsletter
Things are happening at Kid’s Day Out. The children are doing great. They are getting the hang of the routine. They're even having a great time doing those wonderful masterpieces of art. I'm sure you're displaying them on your refrigerator.
By now, you should hve received your Kid's Day Out roster. I hope this list will help out in trying to find a substitute if you ever need one and also to set up play dates. Please do not give out anyone’s information especially phone number or email address without permission.
We'ld like to remind you to make sure all of your child's belongings have his / her name on them. With 40 children using that room a week, it is difficult to keep items in the right backpacks and lunch boxes if they don't have names on them. Each child has a teddy bear name tag with a clip above their hook, please check each day for artwork and notes to be taken home.
Drop off and pick up can become very hectic, please make sure you are locking the Kid’s Day Out classroom door behind you. This will insure that all the children will stay safe in their room.
If your child has an item they like to sleep with, please send it with them for nap time so your child can have a more restful time at nap. It will just help them feel more secure.
Many children like to be self-sufficient when going to the restroom. Easy to remove clothing is especially helpful. Clothes that are hard to take off (ex. belts) make this process to challenging for the little ones.
We still have some children that do not have an extra change of clothes in their backpack. Parents, this is very important so that we may make your child comfortable as soon as possible.
Thank you parents for picking your children up on time. This is greatly appreciated. Your child does begin to worry if you are not here on time. Dismissal is between 2:30 and 2:45.
Children love to celebrate birthdays. If you would like to send treats on your child's birthday, just let the teachers know ahead of time so they can plan for it.
The parking lot can become very busy during arrival and dismissal time. Please be extra careful when driving in the parking lot and when leaving it. If at all possible, do not back out of a parking space.
We are asking parents not to use the preschool playground between 9:00 a.m. and 5:30 p.m. Our Young Child Center children only have a limited time using the playground and we would like to give them as much time on the equipment as possible. It is also hard to supervise a class on the playground when extra children are using it.
When packing a lunch, please use good judgment on the amount of food you are sending to school. Children will be eating a snack in the morning and will not need to eat as much at lunchtime. There has been an awful lot of food being thrown away. Because we do not have the facilities, we ask that you do not send food that needs to be heated.
As the weather gets colder, please make sure your child has a jacket he / she can wear out to the playground at recess time.
Cold and flu season will be here before long. Please reread the health section in the parents’ handbook stating St. Ann Young Child Center health policies. One very important policy is that your child must be fever and vomit free for 24 hours without the use of Tylenol before returning to school.
And last but not least, please remember to sign in your child every time you come to Kid’s Day Out. This is very important for attendance records and to be able to get a hold of you if needed. Thanks a bunch!
